Mohair Monster Update!

No, it's still not done...are you serious? ...but I'm running out of yarn. More is on the way, so keep your fingers crossed and let's hope it matches or that I can at least blend it in!

"Knitting conventions are boring."

We were sitting there discussing the upcoming Sock Summit, and he comes up with this gem - although I have to admit - he is probably not the first nor will he be the last;

"Knitting conventions are boring, crocheting conventions would be a lot more fun ... you know, there are a lot more hookers!"

Yeah.
I'm still rolling on the floor laughing and slapping my knees with that one.
Yuck, yuck.
Ahem.

Aren't you finished with that mohair thing yet?

No.

Not yet, but I promised Aunt G a fitting next time she's in town, which will be the end of July.

Gulp.

There's not much more knitting left to do on it...so I better get moving!

February Toddler Sweater

This is a gift for BT. She had a baby girl a couple of weeks ago. I prefer to knit something a bit larger than itty bitty size for a baby because they grow so quickly. (That is when I really want to make something for the person and not an obligatory hand knit hat.)

I love knitting this, the pattern is so simple! I knit the sleeves in the round and they flew off of the needles. I am using Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece yarn which I like, but to be honest if this were in a scrumptious wool it would be finished already.

Yes, you're right. I am thinking that I need a February Lady Sweater for myself. It's in my queue on Ravelry and I have the yarn in my stash - black Nature Spun - if you must know...but I have other things that need to be finished first!

A Pair of Socks

At long last I have a FO. Finally, a pair of socks for C#1 who went through an entire winter without a pair of hand knit wool socks. I finished these on the 4th of July at our friend's farm, when I wasn't involved in helping with the homemade ice cream. Oh, the peach ice cream was awesome, but the vanilla...oh, the vanilla was amazing!

Now onto C#2's socks - nicknamed the mint chip socks since they are minty green and black! C#2's choice.

Photos to come tomorrow, I promise. They're here!
