Ummm...well the back is almost done...

Sorry, Aunt G. Not yet. A few inches away from finishing the back.

No photos because D. has the camera. Not HIS fancy shmancy camera that he HAD to have for Christmas (that he doesn't really know how to use), but no, the rinky dink snapshot camera that I have really come to appreciate. The reason he's got the camera, is that our nephew is doing a Flat Stanley project and D is supposed to be taking photos of all of Stanley's activities in Chicago. Guess who has taken the most photos? Not D. Nope, I have.

If I ever get the camera back I'll post a couple of photos. It was a lot of fun. For me.

At a Frank Lloyd Wright house, the Robie house in Chicago.

At Orchestra Hall, we went to see the Kodo Drummers.

Project Paralysis

Do you ever get Project Paralysis, when you're zipping along on some project, and then you get to the part where you really need to focus and pay attention, or you need to do some mind numbing calculations but you don't do it? Or something like take the sweater off the needles and measure the damned thing?
And instead of making a small effort at just getting it done...things are kind of .....on hold.

I hate it, but no I don't want to deal with that complicated and tedious stuff, not right now anyhow. Maybe I'll knit some socks, until I get to the heel of course. Cupcake sees nothing wrong with taking it easy.

Cupcake is on a diet. My MIL said that "Wedding Cake" was a more appropriate name for him!

Happy Birthday Aunt G?

This is a sweater for my Aunt G. It is for her 50th birthday, my mother bought the yarn and I am knitting the sweater because Aunt G loves mohair sweaters, and wanted a bright blue one. A perfect gift! Her birthday is February 17th, and this is only the back. I haven't been able to devote much time to a charted knit right now, I should make the time, but then if you ask my mother, my house should be cleaner, too.

I don't know if I'll make it in time for her birthday, I hope to because it's a milestone birthday.

It'll be her 60th!!!!

Ponytail Hat

I just cast on yesterday. While home with the flu I thought I'd try to quickly knit some of those simple projects that I hadn't really had time to knit. H's hat is one of those, and if I owe you mittens, I promise you will get them at some point, really, really S, the girls will get mittens one
day.

Back to the hat. I bought some Cleckheaton Merino Supreme a while back, because it was the perfect color. Can you tell by the progress I made that I am loving this yarn? It's nice and squooshy and springy and soft...mmmmm. The hat is going quickly, maybe I'll try to finish tonight and then let it languish for a few months while I search for the perfect buttons. That would be the kind of thing that I would do.

P.S. While looking up a link for this lovely yarn, I have found out that it has sadly been discontinued. What a shame.

(Camera cable nowhere to be found, sorry no photos. I'll check with the Cs and see if they've been using the cable!) Found it!
